  26. Make a disc.  Use the following settings (Numeric options)

  29.     Segments:    1
  30.     Bottom:        0

  32.     Axis:        Z

  35.          Y     0
  36.          Z     0
  37.  
  38.     Radius:  X     5

  44. Then Lathe it with (Numeric)

  46.     Start Angle    0
  47.     End Angle    3600
  48.     Sides        160

  56. That gives you more of a thick spring than a slinky, but you get the 
  57. idea.  Since Slinky's are so thing, you may want to try using a 1-pt. 
  58. polygon instead of the disc (which will give you a slinky made of 2-point 
  59. polys).

  61. You can change the lenght of the slinky by increasing the Offset, and 
  62. changing the End Angle will determine the # of spirals in the spring.  
  63. You will likly want to increase the Sides if you increase the End Angel, 
  64. though.
